Will Seoul Record a Tropical Night in June 2026?

Will Seoul record a tropical night by the end of June 2026?

Event Snapshot

This market asks whether Seoul records its first tropical night of 2026 before the end of June. It works well because the definition is clear, the station data are public, and users naturally search when the first real tropical night will arrive.

Market Background

A tropical night is a classic public-facing weather keyword. It is not only a meteorological term; it maps directly onto comfort, cooling demand, and the feeling that summer has truly arrived. Framing the event around whether the first one appears by end-June gives the page strong weather traffic and a clean settlement standard.

Resolution Rules

This market will resolve to "Yes" if the Korea Meteorological Administration records at least one tropical night in Seoul from the night following this market's opening through the night ending on June 30, 2026. Otherwise, it will resolve to "No."

A tropical night will follow the Korea Meteorological Administration definition: the minimum temperature does not fall below 25.0°C during the official nighttime observation period. The official Seoul observation station, station number 108, will be used. Daily maximum temperature, perceived temperature, and observations from other Seoul-area stations do not qualify.

The primary resolution source will be Korea Meteorological Administration observations and official climate summaries for Seoul station 108. Official corrections published before settlement will be used.
